sunday was a pretty productive day. paper and glue wise, anyways. i completed 2 layouts, 2 cards and worked on a mini book. pretty good, eh? i can show you one of the layout now. the rest of the stuff will have to wait a bit. ;)

happy tuesday! this is my last tuesday to go to work for the next month. i go back to my regular schedule of 4 10s starting next week until we realign schedules. only 1 other 5 day week in august. yay!
i made my monthly trek to my fabulous hair girl on monday and look what awesomeness i walked out of there with.
3 colors! i love it! i don't think i've ever had 3 colors at 1 time. if you don't count the gray, i mean. i just love it!!!!
you like that colored tape frame? i found those this morning on kitschy digitals. so cute. there are transparent ones and opaque ones. so cute. i love all the colors. here's another one i did this morning.

just one photo from the 4th to share right now. i haven't been able to get through the photos yet, but i must say, they are sooooooooooooo very different from last year's photos. last year steve and i went to the big fireworks show in blaine. all by ourselves. it was fun. we had a great time getting great photos. this year, my nephew and his family were here and he bought A LOT of fireworks to launch at my mother in laws house. we had a great time. the kids had a great time and i got some shots i love.
here's my one for today. it's ayden. he's almost 8. hilarious kid. almost as hilarious as his little brother. oh, and he sounds just like his cousin, alex. weird, right?
it was pitch black when i took this photo. LOVE the 3200 iso on the 30d. i even love the grain. i think it adds some cool texture to the photo.

i realized today i've got quite a few cards to share with you. i still make them all the time. i just forget to post them here. or, put them in the card gallery. i do take photos of them. usually just dump them off the CF card and file them in the card file and promptly forget about them.

yesterday i went to see my mama. it's been a few weeks and i was really needing a mom fix. she's all done with the chemo. just needs to get herceptin every 3 weeks and that should be a lot less impactful. she's so tired of feeling like crap and i don't blame her. she's a stronger woman than me. i , honestly, don't know how i would deal.

it came! i wasn't really expecting it to be shipped until this week and here it is. i was a little surprised to see it on the front porch last night when we got home.
it's super nice! especially since it's old. came in a cool leather bag with a flash and lots of bulbs. i don't really know what i will do with those, though. the lens is fairly clear but the beauty of these photos is a little dirt and scratches. there are a few of those too. now, to make a connection so i can start taking some photos. :) that's steve's job. :)
i had a busy weekend. 3 days off from the big girl job but spent a good part of 2 of them at treasury. it was fun times, but i am tired. i taught paper party this past saturday. it was my first time and it went good. here's a little peek at the project.

i've been mildly intrigued by this type of photography for quite some time. yesterday i took the plunge and bought a camera on ebay that will help me to move into taking the pics rather than just reading about them and dreaming about them. i'm hoping it won't be too difficult to make a "connector". want to see the camera?
it looks like it's in super good condition. the lady who the seller got it from was the original owner and she got it when she was a little girl. her dad worked for kodak and so she was able to get it directly from kodak. cool, right? the cool part was the price. have you seen those "buy it now" or "make an offer" on ebay? well, i made an offer and it was accepted. and, with the credit i had on my pay pal account (from one of my etsy purchases. that's another blog post) it only cost me about $10. shipping included. :)

first let me say, photo editing takes soooooooooooooooooooooooooo long. there, i said it. and that, my friends, is my excuse for not getting here sooner. i can't just take them off the camera and slap'um up here. i have to work on them. tweak them. make them cool. cooler, anyway.

the color for yesterday was green. all this week we are taking photos of colors. each day is assigned a certain color. yesterday was green. today is reds, pinks, roses. fortunately, i worked with tammy t on green day. her favorite color is green and she is always surrounding herself in the beautiful shade. :)

my work schedule changed, again, this week and i didn't find out until last thursday. it always takes me a couple weeks to get my bearings with a schedule change. especially when i have to go from having 3 days off to 2. that's not a lot of fun. i like the shorter days, but in the end, i'd rather have 3 off each week.
ok. enough whining.
my birthday was good. as good as turning 42 can be. my dearest friends and my family took great care of me. still planning a day in seattle to celebrate with my mom when her chemo is done. 1 more treatment.

did you know june is national iced tea month? unfortunately, i didn't find out until june 3 and my fun plan for the month is missing 2 days. oh well. i am making a point of having some kind of iced tea each day and i'm taking a photo of it. sometimes, it ends up being my p365 photo, too. i think i'll make some sort of mini with all of the photos.

(and my mama). at least this tuesday. julie and i planned to meet my mom for lunch in blaine on tuesday. (mom works in blaine) we arrived early so we could toots (julie's word) around town to see what they have. it's a very cute little seaside town with not a lot there. not even anantique shop to poke around in. they do have a cute little shop with an interesting assortment of gifty items. strangely enough, they had a bag in there (several times) that i got on clearance at target. weird, right? i think it's a target brand item, too. weird.
with time to kill after the little gift shop and a few interesting house painting sightings, we headed over to birch bay. we went to a little kitschy souvenir shop and the knit shop. too bad the C shop was closed. it's one of my favorite places in birch bay. it's so pretty too. guess what color it's painted? ;)
