holiday memories...

day 6 was about memories. holiday memories. something we all have. something i hope is, mostly, good for all of us. part of the fabulousness of christmas are the memories. i love that as i get older, the memories keep piling up. :) such a good pile. lots of funny, awesome, heartfelt and wonderful stuff that will always put a smile on my face. remember the year grandpa announced to the family that the new razor he just got was NOT the one he wanted. i think he was just talking to grandma but he was loud. and grumpy. LOL! see, funny stuff. on with memory pages.

hello, friday...

i'm so glad you're finally here. it's been another long week and i can't wait for the weekend. i've been working on bits & pieces of my christmas journal. pulling things together to make the other 17 pages (that won't be int he 10 page protectors). it's been such fun. i love going through my christmas stash looking for fun treasures to add to my box for my journal.

speaking of the journal. we're up to page 5.

i am still loving all of this christmas going on around me. on november 5. :) some people are holiday haters. "don't hate", i say. figure out why you hate and learn to love. move on and enjoy the holidays. after all, they are coming every year. it's no surprise, right?

the "a" list...

shim's next blog challenge was to post a list. a list of anything you like. just share some stuff you are loving right now. any of you who have been around here lately know exactly what i'm loving right now. right? christmas! already, i know. oh well. we only get a couple months to really enjoy it and i need to get started as early as possible. it's not about buying gifts, people. :) it's about enjoying the season. i used to dread the holidays. so much money. so many people. so much hustle and bustle. (is that how you spell it?) i mean, i have always loved christmas but for awhile there, i let the stress take over. not happening anymore! thanks to shimelle and this little thing she calls journal your christmas. it took me a few years to really get what "take back your christmas" really means. last year, i got it! and now, i'm not letting it go! and, my mission is to get as many of you to try it out as possible. i know, it sounds daunting. 37 pages in 37 days. during the holidays. well, i did it last year and, i work full time. i was also able to make all my christmas cards, knit several christmas presents (after thanksgiving), make many other gifts and create a few other christmas mini books for myself. yup. i blame it on shimelle. it's totally a good blame! thank you! thank you! thank you, shimelle! i'm never turning back!

and, this year, i got julie to give it whirl! she's not turning back, either. i'm sure of it! it's not too late. go sign up now. it's a one time fee. FOREVER! (if that's not a bargain, i don't really know what is)

hello, wednesday...

we're on to day 3. all about the cards. the christmas cards. i usually (always) make mine. this may be the first year i go digital. creating it digitally, i mean. in fact, i have a card all ready to go. upload at costco and order them up. whenever i'm ready. if i do go that way, i will still glue them to a card and write inside. i don't know. i guess we will all see soon enough. :)

so, as i said earlier, i've joined another class with shimelle. Blogging for Scrapbookers. sounds fabulous, right? RIGHT! i'm excited about all the info and ideas i will be learning to keep my blog interesting and read worthy.

my intentions...

• blog more often. it will be daily for the next few months and i would love to continue with daily posts as long as i can.
• blog with intention. i want to get more life stories here. kind of a virtual scrapbook.
• find more interesting blogs to read and be more organized with my computer time. :)

hello, november...

now that halloween is over, it's time to celebrate the holidays! woohoo! i really LOVE this time of year! thanksgiving, christmas and all the fun stuff we do and celebrate. last year i posted a daily gratitude here. a photo of what i was grateful for, and why. still trying to decide if i'm going to do that again this year. i am super busy and i'm starting a new class with shimelle tomorrow and, i'm working on preparing my christmas journal because that starts 1 month from today! yay! i'm super excited about that! i'm currently working on altering an old SEI 8x8 "suitcase" type album i have. it was a color i didn't really want for this project and it was shiny! i've been getting all messy with gesso, modeling paste, distress crackle paint, distress ink and some regular paint. we shall see how it turns out soon. hopefully good. LOL!

look what i found...

in my mailbox yesterday when i got home!

you see, a little over a month ago, when we found out about treasury of memories closing, michelle emailed me and asked a favor of me. she wanted me to shop for her at treasury, one last time, because she wasn't going to make it over the pass before the store actually closed. "pick out some fun stuff for me", she said. i was flattered and nervous, all at the same time! flattered that she chose me and nervous that she might not like the stuff i picked out. it was really fun. i could get used to being someone's personal scrapbook shopper. :) fast forward to yesterday. i got this cute little box from michelle with this sweet note on the outside. what could it be?

yep! those are owls! i LOVE owls! michelle knows i LOVE owls! they are just so cute! and, that's not all. there were some super fun things in the mug.

a starbucks card, some halloween treats and those eyes. LOL! a pile of bouncy eyes made into a bouncy ball. a bouncy ball that i am certain would bounce all crazy and crooked, if you let it fly. can you read the tag from michelle? "because everyone needs a bouncy eye." in deed, my friend! in deed.

thank you, michelle! you are the sweetest! and, it came at the perfect time. i was having, kind of, a crappy day and you, and your bouncy eyes, made it a whole lot better! :)

shimelle's got another great online class coming up. (and, i don't mean the Journal Your Christmas class. that class is AMAZING! this is a new one to bridge the gap between now and JYC). it's a blogging for scrapbookers class. it sounds like it's for all of us. blogging newbies and old veterans, like myself. (my typepad account said i've been a member since 2005! almost 5 years! that makes me a veteran, right?)

you should check it out! sounds packed full of info and shimelle has not disappointed me yet. :) oh, and we're making some scrapbook pages, too.

why does this keep happening...

why does new scrapbooking stuff keep coming out? why is it taunting me, now that i don't have a LSS? i thought it would all just go away. when treasury was gone. thought i wouldn't notice the new stuff. thought it wouldn't matter because i have soooooo much stuff i love. well, it's not working out that way. look what i found tonight.

new my mind's eye. new journaling lines from my mind's eye. i see another online order on the horizon. has anyone seen this stuff anywhere, yet? anyone want to share shipping? TOM girls?
